The Personnel Department provides personnel services to all City departments and staff. These services include:
recruitment
wage and salary administration
performance and position evaluation
employees' benefit program
labour relations and negotiations coordination
It is also responsible for the administration of:
Workers' Compensation claims
lost-time health control
employee rehabilitation and return-to-work programs
The Department must comply with the collective agreements and legislation relative to Occupational Health and Safety, Workplace Hazardous Materials Information, The Labour Standards Act and the Trade Union Act (Canada).
