Moose Jaw is the gem of the Prairies. We are known as a "can do" city. Our positive atmosphere is the result of our expanding tourist industry and the increase in our retail and manufacturing industries. As well, agriculture in the region is expanding with increasing value-added products such as a proposed bio-diesel and ethanol industry. Moose Jaw works with the Regional Economic Development Authority (REDA) to expand existing industries and promote the growth of new industries in our region. Our partnership with REDA has shown success and we look forward to new ventures. Moose Jaw offers many attractions for the visitor including the Murals of Moose Jaw, the Library-Art Museum complex, the Western Development Museum, the Sukanen Ship Museum, Temple Gardens Mineral Spa, Casino Moose Jaw, many parks and green spaces including our excellent urban park-Wakamow Valley, the Kinsmen Sportsplex pool and rink complex, and many historic buildings in our downtown which can be enjoyed by a self-guided walking tour. Be sure to also take a ride on the Trolley Car and enjoy a great narrated tour of the city. We are proud to say that since 1996, Moose Jaw and area has added over 379 new hotel rooms making our total now at over 830 rooms to cater to all tastes including the most discriminating visitor. As Mayor, I invite you to visit the Tourist Information Center or call Tourism Moose Jaw if you have any questions regarding the amenities Moose Jaw has to offer. I know you will receive excellent treatment from our friendly staff. I am certainly pleased that you have chosen to spend some time in the "Friendly City".
