Residential Land Availability

Did You Know
  • Residential LandIn 2003, the City of Moose Jaw approved the implementation of two (2) new Housing Incentive Programs in hopes of encouraging economic development by stimulating new housing starts. In 2006, the New Housing Incentive Program was terminated while the Replacement Housing Incentive Program as extended for an additional three (3) year period scheduled to expire on December 31, 2009. However, in 2007, City Council opted to maintain the Replacement Housing Incentive Program on a permanent basis.

    Please Note:. Tax exemptions ARE NOT transferrable between property owners. Once the property for which a tax exemption has been granted has been sold, the exemption is terminated

  • Information on availability of building sites is available from the Land Administration Branch. Residential lots are currently available in the following subdivisions:
    Westheath
    Sunningdale
  • The purchase price, in most cases, will include sewer, water, energy and power hook up to the property line. The purchase price may also include sidewalk, curb, gutter and street paving.

  • Unless otherwise noted, a minimum of 10% of the purchase price is required as a deposit; said deposit being non-refundable.

  • The balance of the purchase price is due within 90 days after you have executed the Agreement for Sale and Purchase with the City. If the balance of the purchase price is not received within the aforementioned 90 days, interest will be charged accordingly. Payment should be made to either the Land Administration Branch or the City Solicitor’s Office. Once the lot is paid in full, transfer of title may be effected.

  • Prior to the issuance of a building permit, your building plans must be submitted for approval to the Building Inspector in the Engineering Department.

  • Copies of the site regulations, as prescribed by City of Moose Jaw Zoning Bylaw No. 3000 (ie. building set backs from property lines, site coverage, etc.) can be obtained through the Engineering Department.

  • Estimates for the installation of sewer and water lines can be obtained from the Utilities Division, Treasury Branch.

  • It is the purchaser's responsibility to request sewer and water hook-up through the Utilities Division, Treasury Branch.

  • It is the purchaser's responsibility to request energy and power hook-ups through SaskEnergy and SaskPower.

  • Information respecting transfer of title documentation can be obtained from the Solicitor's Department.

  • The onus is on the purchaser to conform to all Bylaws and Regulations of the City of Moose Jaw.
