The City of Moose Jaw is committed to assisting community groups and organizations in undertaking specific activities that enhance the quality of life in Moose Jaw. To further this commitment, the City has four (4) separate grant programs that community organizations can access.

Community Grant Program
Purpose
Funding for this grant is provided by Saskatchewan Lotteries. The purpose of the grant is to provide support to local organizations to operate activities in sport, culture and recreation in Base or Target Initiatives.

Criteria
Groups applying for funding can only apply for one grant per project from the City. Grant requests for capital expenditures are not eligible. Other ineligible expenses include facility maintenance and operation cost, food and alcoholic beverages, membership fees, prizes, full-time employee costs, out-of-province activities and travel, uniforms and personal items.

Local non-profit incorporated organizations may apply for funding. Only those organizations that are sport, culture or recreation oriented and directly servicing the citizens of Moose Jaw are eligible to apply. Funding Levels
Funding of projects is based on the merit of each request. Applicants will be responsible for at least 25% of the total eligible expenses.

Application Procedures
Application forms are available by contacting Moose Jaw Parks and Recreation at 694-4447 or you may download the application from this site. The deadline for applications is November 30, 2008. Completed applications were to be dropped off at the Parks and Recreation Department, Third Floor, City Hall, 228 Main Street North.

Special Events Hosting Grant
Purpose
Funding for this grant is provided by Saskatchewan Lotteries. The grant is to encourage local organizations to host sports tournaments and cultural events in the City of Moose Jaw.

Criteria
Local non-profit incorporated organizations may apply for funding. Assistance is available for hosting Provincial, Western Canadian, National or International events, not previously hosted within two preceding years. Annual local events are eligible provided they are at least two days long and have a minimum of 48 participants of which 80% are non-residents of the City, however events hosted year after year will be considered annual and funded as such. Funding is also available to assist In bidding to host events. Trade shows and conferences are not eligible. Community Projects - Capital Grant Program

Community Projects - Capital Grant Program Booklet

Purpose
The purpose of the Community Projects - Capital Grant Program is to enable community groups to undertake capital development or renovation projects that will result in short and long term benefits to the community. The main focus of the project must be related to improvement of parks or facilities providing recreation, sport, arts, or cultural opportunities to the community. All developments must have a minimum life span of five years.
