The Utilities section is responsible for reading meters, billing and collection for water and sewer services, processing of requests for connection and disconnection of service, handling of complaints related to utility billings and defective meters, and arrangements for house connections.
Connections and Disconnections In most cases, changes to your utilities services can be accomplished with one phone call. In general, anyone that currently has a utilities or tax account with the City can phone in and have connections, location changes, and disconnections accomplished by making a call to Customer Service at 1-306-694-4400. Persons that have not previously had a utility or tax account with the City are required to come to Customer Service at City Hall and fill out an application for service. A deposit maybe required where the application for connection is for a location that is rented. Back to the Top Landlord Tenant Agreement Landlord Tenant Agreements are now available for water and sewer accounts. This agreement is available to landlords wishing to have their name put on the accounts when tenants move out. The agreement is a one time $40.00 charge and the account will automatically transfer into the landlords name each time a tenant leaves without the normal $40.00 connection fee. This continues until the landlord chooses to cancel the agreement. For more information call the water department at 694-4410. Back to the Top Meter Reading Our Meter Readers visit every water meter location in the City four times each year. We are looking for ways to make meter reading more efficient for the City, and more convenient for the customer. More efficient meter reading would eliminate the need for the estimates in billing. A 24 Hour Dial-A-Reading Line 694-4506 was set up so that customers could take their own readings and telephone them in at their convenience (or drop the reading off at Customer Service). You can also send your meter reading in on-line by completing the On-line Water Meter Reading form. We are also promoting the installation of remote meters. The remote meters make it faster and easier for the meter reader to get the reading, and saves the customer the inconvenience of having someone enter their home to take the reading. If you are interested in having a remote meter installed in your home please contact Customer Service at 694-4400. Interactive movie that displays how to read your water meter.
*Note* Flash plug-in required. **Please be courteous to your meter reader and mindful of their safety. Meter Readers are regularly bitten by dogs, forced to crawl into awkward places, or climb over obstacles to read meters. They just want to do their job and get home safe and sound like you and I** Back to the Top Payment Options
